The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, discussed the critical situation in the heating system, caused by a malfunction at CET Sud, which left many Bucharest residents without hot water and heating. He explained that the distribution infrastructure of the thermal agent is very old, and the commissioning of the hot water boiler could lead to the shutdown of the entire system. Additionally, Ciucu mentioned that, due to losses in the network, the make-up water is very hard and can affect the installations, increasing the risk of accidents.

The mayor apologized for the problems caused by the poorly maintained infrastructure and announced that he will have meetings with ELCEN to discuss the modernization of the heating plants. Furthermore, the Capital City Hall will continue to replace the old networks to improve the heating system.
