The President of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), Liviu Odagiu, vehemently rejected the accusations made in the public space regarding the so-called 'black lists' after the adoption of the decision in which he accuses politicians, NGOs, and journalists of a campaign of "unprecedented" discrediting of justice in Romania and of "harassment". Odagiu claims that the judiciary did not create such lists, but documented facts and concrete actions that affect the independence of justice.
He asserts that "attacks on justice" have been constant over the past year, mentioning that the courts are only invested with real, not hypothetical, facts. The President of the CSM highlighted that the analyzed actions aim to change the leaders in the judicial system and modify legislation, with the ultimate goal of completing these actions. Odagiu accused that the narrative about the 'black lists' has been propagated by non-governmental organizations and influencers who contest how judges apply the law.
The Declic community announced on Thursday that it will take the Superior Council of Magistracy to court for the creation of "black lists" with independent journalists and representatives of civil society.
