UEFA has rejected the request of Eintracht Frankfurt to move the Champions League match against Napoli to a neutral venue, scheduled for November 4, after local authorities in Naples banned German fans from attending. The prefect of Naples issued an order blocking the sale of approximately 2,500 tickets for Frankfurt supporters. The German club argued that there are "security and organizational deficiencies" at the Neapolitan stadium and requested that the match be held behind closed doors.
Philipp Reschke, a member of the board of directors of Eintracht, emphasized that bans on away fans are becoming a real problem in European competitions, highlighting that there have been 15 cases of similar bans in UEFA competitions. Reschke called for a review of UEFA regulations to address these restrictions and prevent the disadvantage of away teams.
