During a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Munteanu, the Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that Romania will continue to be a strategic partner and a supporter of the European path of the Republic of Moldova. Bolojan congratulated the Moldovan authorities on the recent elections and emphasized the importance of dynamic dialogue between ministers to deepen joint projects.
Among the initiatives discussed are the interconnection of energy and transport infrastructures, such as the Suceava-Bălți electric line and the rehabilitation of the Iași-Ungheni railway connection. The Prime Minister highlighted the increase in bilateral trade and Romanian investments in Moldova, as well as cooperation in areas such as security, culture, and education. Bolojan reaffirmed Romania's support for Moldova's accession to the European Union and called for the rapid opening of accession negotiations.
