Dominic Fritz, the leader of USR, stated that the party is ready to go into opposition in case the motion of no confidence against the government led by Ilie Bolojan is adopted. He emphasized that USR will not support a new government formed under the same political conditions, mentioning that he does not believe that PSD truly wants to lead the country in the right direction. Fritz confirmed that the party will not accept to be part of a "Ciolacu-Ciucă 2.0 government," considering the experience of the government in 2020, when USR was excluded from the coalition. He highlighted that USR ministers fulfilled their duty and that there is political resistance against the reforms promoted by the party. Fritz concluded that USR cannot remain in a governmental formula that does not support real reforms, emphasizing the importance of adjusting state expenditures and combating corruption.
