Siegfried Mureșan: “We will build on the good things accomplished by the Bolojan Government”

Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan said on Saturday that the future governing program would continue the measures of the Bolojan Government deemed effective and would focus on the responsible management of public funds.

Mureșan said the new Executive must build on the principles already assumed: responsibility in running the state, careful management of spending, and avoiding the waste of public money. “We will build on the good things achieved by the Bolojan Government,” the designated prime minister said.

The statement came after the Social Democratic Party (PSD) asked Siegfried Mureșan to publicly present his plan for Romania and the measures prepared for the population. The Social Democrats believe that the designated prime minister must clarify whether he intends to change the current government’s policies or continue them.

PSD argues that the governing program and measures for Romanians should be presented before discussions on securing the votes needed to form a parliamentary majority. The party described this order as a condition of political normality. Mureșan has not yet provided details about the schedule for presenting the program or the composition of the future cabinet.
