PNL President and interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced Saturday that the government program submitted to Parliament by Prime Minister-designate Siegfried Mureșan continues the reforms already under way and prioritizes Romania’s modernization, economic growth and responsibility toward public finances.
Bolojan said that Mureșan had submitted the list of proposed ministers and the government program, documents that will be analyzed as part of the parliamentary procedure. The interim prime minister expressed his support for the directions announced by the prime minister-designate.
Siegfried Mureșan presented his vision for Romania, based on reducing bureaucracy and improving public services, raising living standards and applying the law equally. His priorities also included strengthening the country’s security and maintaining Romania as a reliable partner in the European Union and NATO.
According to the prime minister-designate, hearings for the proposed ministers will begin next week in parliamentary committees. Subsequently, the new Cabinet will appear before Parliament for a vote of confidence. Mureșan said he was ready to defend his program and assume responsibility for governing.
