The leadership of the PSD met to discuss the budget and remaining in government, before the coalition meeting.

On Monday, the leadership of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) met before a new meeting of the governing Coalition, where the budget for this year will be negotiated. The social democrats have requested the inclusion of more social aid in the budget, especially for pensioners. Additionally, PSD leaders promised an internal consultation to decide whether the party will remain in government alongside USR and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

At the meeting at the PSD headquarters, members of the National Permanent Bureau unanimously voted to extend the mandate to consult local organizations. They will be asked whether they support the continuation of the coalition and under what conditions. The final decision of the PSD will be made after the completion of negotiations for the 2026 budget.
