The National Council of the PSD is meeting on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m., at Vila Lac, to decide the party’s position on the Government designated by Luca Niculescu. The Social Democrats will analyze whether they will participate with ministers in the Executive, whether they will support the Cabinet through a vote in Parliament, or whether they will oppose it.
PSD President Sorin Grindeanu announced that he will present three options: the party’s non-involvement, support for a technocratic government, or participation in a political government, possibly alongside several other parties. Grindeanu criticized the idea of an exclusively technocratic Executive, which he considers fragile and lacking political support.
The designated prime minister stated that all options remain open: a political government, a hybrid one made up of politicians and technocrats, or a technocratic Cabinet, for which he claims he already has the list of ministers. Niculescu is expected to submit the governing program and the list of the Executive to Parliament on Thursday.
PNL is considering a bilateral political agreement, without participating in government, while UDMR announced that it will vote for the Government and the program, regardless of the formula chosen.
