PSD has decided to join the Government led by Luca Niculescu and support its formation, following a party leadership meeting lasting more than two hours.

The PSD National Political Council unanimously voted both to support the Niculescu Government and to approve the list of ministers proposed by the party. PSD will have 11 of the 17 members of the future Cabinet.

Three political options were analyzed during the meeting: joining the government with ministers, supporting a technocratic government, or abstaining from the vote on the Luca Niculescu Government. The first option was approved with eight abstentions, while support for the Cabinet was decided unanimously.

The final decision marks PSD’s entry into the future Executive and its direct participation in government. The list of Social Democratic ministers was also approved without any votes against.

PSD President Sorin Grindeanu is expected to officially announce the party’s decisions at 19:00. The names of the 11 ministers and their portfolios will be presented during the public statement.
