Prime Minister-designate Luca Niculescu will hold a new round of consultations with representatives of the parliamentary parties on Monday, at Parliament, to secure the support needed to form the future Government.
Schedule of meetings with the parties:
12:00 p.m. - Save Romania Union Party (USR)
2:00 p.m. - Parliamentary group of national minorities
4:00 p.m. - PACE - First Romania parliamentary group
5:00 p.m. - United for Romania parliamentary group (UPR)
Luca Niculescu's meeting with USR will take place at the party headquarters, while the other meetings will take place at the Palace of Parliament.
Niculescu has already held talks with PSD, PNL and UDMR and intends to submit the government program and the Cabinet list to Parliament on Thursday. He stated that he would propose a competent government and continue the good measures, without any potential relaxation policies affecting Romania's international commitments.
PSD is calling for an assumed and transparent majority, warning that it could reject the Government if the parties do not clearly commit to the economic project. PNL does not wish to participate in government alongside PSD, but is willing to grant an investiture vote. UDMR announced, in turn, that it would vote for a government even if it would not be part of it.
