Marcel Ciolacu, the president of the Buzău County Council and former prime minister, stated that he does not support the idea of a technocratic prime minister, referring to Ilie Bolojan, in the context of discussions about continuing the current coalition. Ciolacu emphasized that the experience with Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș was negative and suggested that Bolojan should resign from his position to unblock the economic situation. He criticized the new co-financing rules imposed on local authorities, warning that they will generate economic problems and block investments.

Ciolacu mentioned that the financial pressure from the center is becoming difficult to manage, considering the rising costs and inflation. He proposed a multiannual program to allow local authorities to contract loans and scale their projects. In this context, President Nicușor Dan is holding consultations at Cotroceni with the parties, after PSD decided to withdraw political support for Bolojan.
