Sorin Grindeanu, the leader of the PSD, proposed that the relevant ministers present the coalition with the guidelines for foreign policy decisions, a measure agreed upon by all coalition members. The goal is to avoid unpleasant situations, such as those related to the SAFE and Mercosur agreements, where parties were caught off guard by decisions already made. Grindeanu emphasized the importance of informing coalition members about the travels of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Ţoiu, to international meetings that can engage Romania in the long term.
He also called for transparency in the management of funds obtained through the SAFE program, stressing that Romanians need to be informed about the use of these loans. Grindeanu stated that foreign policy should be discussed within the coalition, similar to other areas, and requested that USR and Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan present the guidelines for foreign policy soon.
