The U.S. House of Representatives voted on Tuesday on a legislative agreement that ends the partial government shutdown, with 217 votes in favor and 214 against.
The bill, supported by both parties, restores funding for essential agencies such as defense, health, and education, and temporarily extends funding for the Department of Homeland Security. President Donald Trump quickly signed the legislation, which will fund most of the federal government until September 30 through a budget package worth approximately $1.2 trillion. Congress will negotiate changes to immigration regulations, following Democrats' requests to restrict the tactics of the ICE agency.
