This initiative is part of a broader effort to simplify regulations, in response to pressures from the industry and the U.S. government. The document, titled "Digital Omnibus," will be presented on November 19 by the European Commissioner for Technology, Henna Virkkunen. Among the proposed changes is the exclusion from the registration requirement for AI systems deemed "high-risk," used only for limited tasks.

Additionally, a one-year grace period will be introduced, during which penalties will not be applied until August 2027. Other measures, such as labels for AI-generated content, will be implemented gradually. These changes could represent a victory for Big Tech, which has criticized the complexity of current regulations.
