The local council of Sapareva Banya has approved an increase in tariffs for local services, including parking fees, which will come into effect on January 1. The hourly rate in the paid parking area ('blue zone') will increase from 1 lev (approximately 0.51 euros) to 1 euro, and the parking fee for the chairlift will rise from 2.56 euros to 5 euros.

Mayor Kalin Gelev justified these adjustments as necessary and overdue, noting that inflation has exceeded the proposed increases. He also emphasized that there have been no tax increases since the establishment of the parking in 2011. The parking lot at the chairlift has a capacity of 200 vehicles and is frequently occupied, especially on weekends and holidays.
