Starting from July 1, consumers in several areas of the country, especially in Ilfov County, will experience significant increases in their bills for water supply and sewage services. The increases reach approximately 28% in Ilfov, where the price for drinking water will rise from 7.21 lei to 8.87 lei per cubic meter, and for sewage treatment, from 5.70 lei to 7.64 lei.
These adjustments have been approved by the National Regulatory Authority for Public Utility Services and are part of a strategy to access European funds for infrastructure development.
Price increases are also announced in Sibiu and Timiș counties, and the adjustments will be implemented progressively, depending on the regional operators.
The new tariffs are a prerequisite for funding infrastructure projects, according to the requirements of the European Union.
