Romanians pay different tariffs for water and sewerage services, depending on the locality where they live. In October, the combined cost of the two services starts at 10.02 lei per cubic meter in Ploiești and reaches 23.23 lei per cubic meter in Călărași, excluding VAT.
The lowest tariffs mentioned are charged by Apa Nova Ploiești, while the highest cost is billed by Ecoaqua S.A. in Călărași. The difference between the two amounts is 13.21 lei for each cubic meter consumed.
Thus, residents of Călărași pay a water and sewerage tariff more than twice as high as that paid by residents of Ploiești, based on the values presented. The final cost borne by consumers may also be affected by the application of VAT when tariffs are displayed without this tax.
A comparison of prices highlights the significant differences between regional operators and the localities they serve. The bill amount depends on monthly consumption and the tariff set for each service.
