The National Union of Potato Producers in France (UNPT) estimates a harvest of 8.5 million tons, 10% more than last year. This increase is linked to the expansion of cultivated areas, but it may create problems for farmers due to declining demand. The current price of potatoes is approximately 180 euros per ton, but farmers without prior contracts are facing very low offers, which affects their incomes.
