President Nicușor Dan said that his partner, Mirabela Grădinaru, has a facilitating role between nongovernmental organizations, public authorities and representatives of various institutions, including in areas such as healthcare, emergency situations and support for vulnerable young people.
The head of state said that Grădinaru had been concerned with these issues even before gaining public exposure. According to him, the visibility associated with her current position allows her to bring together people and institutions that would otherwise find it more difficult to communicate.
Nicușor Dan gave as an example the link between NGOs and public authorities, as well as the facilitation of discussions between hospital managers and the Health Minister. He also argued that his partner’s participation in international events represents a form of diplomacy useful to Romania.
The president mentioned her presence in Ukraine and at various international forums, including the UN General Assembly. In his view, these participations contribute to presenting Romania’s activities and give his partner access to the experience of other countries.
