The Taliban authorities declared that Pakistan carried out two drone strikes on Kabul on Wednesday, before the two countries reached a ceasefire agreement to stop the recent violence. The spokesperson for the Kabul police, Khalid Zadran, confirmed that the attacks hit a residence and a market, resulting in five deaths and dozens of injuries, most of them with burns and wounds caused by shrapnel. Although the Pakistani government did not immediately comment, anonymous officials stated that the army targeted militants' hideouts in Afghanistan. The cross-border violence, which began on October 10, has been the most severe since the Taliban returned to power in 2021, with 37 civilians killed and 425 injured this week, according to UNAMA. The organization welcomed the ceasefire, calling for sustainable solutions to protect civilians.
