A damaged drone was discovered on Tuesday in a field in the commune of Viișoara, Vaslui County, about 30 kilometers from the border with the Republic of Moldova.

The spokesperson for the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate, Bogdan Gheorghiță, confirmed that the police station chief was notified by phone about the incident.

The area has been isolated by police and gendarmes to allow for investigations to take place.

The county prefect, Andrei Șerban, announced that the Romanian Intelligence Service has been notified, and the Prosecutor's Office next to the Iași Court of Appeal is set to begin investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident.

An anti-terror brigade has arrived at the scene to conduct further checks.
