Fragments of an unmanned aerial vehicle were discovered on Saturday evening in a field near the village of Volintiri, Ștefan Vodă District, in the Republic of Moldova. The Border Police were alerted by local residents and intervened at around 8:25 p.m., after the objects were found outside the built-up area of the village.
The area was immediately secured, and the authorities began checks to establish the circumstances in which the fragments ended up on the land. For now, there is no official information regarding the type of aircraft or its origin.
The Border Police are monitoring the situation together with the relevant institutions and remain in contact with the authorities in Ukraine. The incident took place in a region near the border with Ukraine, where Moldovan authorities have previously reported objects or fragments associated with unmanned aerial vehicles.
Citizens are warned not to approach or touch drone fragments, ammunition, or other unknown objects. People who discover such objects should leave the area and immediately call 112.
