A drone flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday morning and subsequently crashed in the outskirts of Hîrbovăț village, in Anenii Noi district, where it exploded. The Ministry of Defense in Chișinău announced that the incident caused no casualties. The authorities are investigating the circumstances in which the aircraft entered the country's airspace.
The Police of the Republic of Moldova was notified around 5:40 a.m., after the drone was spotted near the municipality of Bender. Teams from the Police and the National Army went to the crash site to conduct investigations and establish the exact circumstances.
The Air Operations Service continues to monitor the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, in coordination with the competent authorities and external partners. Citizens were warned not to touch or move unidentified objects or suspicious fragments and to immediately call 112.
