The general mayor of the Capital announces the launch of the tender for 100 new articulated trolleybuses.

The General Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, announced the launch of the tender for the purchase of 100 new articulated trolleybuses, aimed at increasing the public transport capacity in Bucharest.

The contract has a value of 492,787,450 RON excluding VAT, and offers can be submitted until October 5, 2026. The new trolleybuses will be equipped with air conditioning, ramps for people with reduced mobility, video cameras, contactless validators, and USB ports. These vehicles will have a length of 18 meters, a minimum capacity of 130 passengers, and a range of 20 kilometers without power from the contact network.

Additionally, the trolleybuses will benefit from modern climate control systems, audio-video information, and assistance for the driver. The project will be partially funded from European funds through the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Program 2021–2027, with a total value of 596,462,622 lei.
