The Cluj-Napoca City Hall, together with the Public Transport Company, has introduced 40 electric buses into circulation on Tuesday, purchased with 34 million euros from European funds through PNRR and POR.

Mayor Emil Boc emphasized that, due to this investment, 70% of the city's public transport fleet is now electric and non-polluting, including 81 electric buses, 90 trolleybuses, and 28 trams.

The new buses are equipped with air conditioning systems, onboard information, access for people with disabilities, and surveillance cameras.

The municipality plans to purchase more electric buses and develop dual-function transport means, which will operate both as trolleybuses and as electric buses. The electric buses will be extended on routes to Florești and to other localities in the metropolitan area.
