Romania has exceeded the targets set under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for zero-emission public transport and electric mobility infrastructure, according to data announced by the Ministry of Development.

Investments financed through the NRRP have led to the purchase of 1,147 zero-emission buses, trams, trolleybuses and minibuses for local public transport. The figure is 12 vehicles above the initial target of 1,135 means of transport.

At the same time, 5,278 electric vehicle charging points have been installed nationwide. Following the renegotiation of the target, Romania was required to reach 2,000 points, meaning the reported result significantly exceeds this target.

The projects were carried out by local authorities, acting as beneficiaries, with European funding managed by the Ministry of Development. The funds were used both to renew public transport fleets and to develop the infrastructure needed for the use of electric vehicles. The investments include electric vehicles and other zero-emission means of transport intended to reduce emissions in urban areas공.
