Prosecutors in Poland announced on Monday the opening of an investigation into a possible 'terrorist-related offense' following the fire last night at the WB Electronics drone factory in Skarzysko-Kamienna, located 140 km south of Warsaw.
The investigation targets suspicious activities related to a foreign intelligence service, with the possible deliberate provocation of the fire using an incendiary device being investigated. Although prosecutors have not identified a suspected party involved, several NATO countries, including Poland and Romania, have accused Russia of sabotage or espionage operations, accusations that Moscow denies.
The incident comes in the context of a series of Russian intrusions into Polish airspace, including the interception of a Russian spy aircraft over the Baltic Sea. Poland, an active supporter of Ukraine, plays a crucial role in transporting military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
