Tensions at the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan have significantly increased following a series of bombings by the Pakistani army, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 people, mostly children.

Taliban authorities in Kabul claim that the attacks targeted residential areas in the provinces of Kunar, Khost, and Paktika, thus violating Afghan airspace. The Taliban government's spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, stated that the bombings occurred during the night, causing a large number of casualties.

These incidents come after a period of calm in the confrontations, but risk rekindling tensions between the two states, which have already been exacerbated by mutual accusations regarding the harboring of militant groups.
