Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece, was recently inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage, a decision made by a special committee in South Korea, between July 19 and 29. This inscription provides special protection, including financial and legal assistance for the conservation of this natural and cultural site. The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, stated that "Mount Olympus becomes a mountain for all humanity." The mountain, with an altitude of 2,914 meters, is a protected natural reserve, having rich biodiversity, with over 2,000 plants, many of which are endemic. Olympus is also known as the "home" of the 12 Greek gods mentioned by Homer, attracting many tourists annually. In the same UNESCO session, other sites were included, such as the royal castles of Languedoc and the landing beaches in Normandy, France.
