The Ministry of Civil Protection warns that most of Greece is facing a high risk of fires on Saturday, and in Crete and some areas in the northeast Aegean Sea, including Chios, Samos, and Ikaria, the risk is very high. Authorities recommend avoiding activities that may cause fires and urge to immediately call the number 112 in case of a fire outbreak.
Greece faces forest fires every summer due to high temperatures, heatwaves, and drought, and over 1.4 million Romanians visited the country in 2024.
