The Minister of Education, Daniel David, stated that he did not criticize the union movement, but understood their grievances related to fiscal-budgetary measures. He emphasized that he would like teachers to protest in a more constructive manner, so as not to create a negative image of themselves. The teachers' protests, which began in the summer, are directed against the provisions of Law 141/2025, known as the Bolojan Law, which includes increasing the teaching norm and merging schools. The unions announced their intention to organize a national referendum for a general strike. Additionally, protests are expected to continue, with calls for the resignation of Minister David and the repeal of the measures in the law. The Bolojan Law has generated controversy, and the analysis of its impact was censored by the minister, which has sparked further discontent among teaching staff.
