Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated on Friday that President Nicușor Dan could have proposed a civilian director at SRI immediately after the formation of the PSD-PNL-USR-UDMR coalition, which would have increased the chances of success for this appointment. Bolojan emphasized that a civilian leadership at SRI could eliminate discussions about the state of provisionality, considering that SRI has not had a civilian director for three years, since the resignation of Eduard Hellvig.
Asked about the influence of SRI in his activity as prime minister or within PNL, Bolojan stated that his collaboration is strictly institutional and avoided speculation, emphasizing his responsibility in this regard.
"Collaboration as prime minister is strictly institutional. I have not had other types of interference. Regarding political aspects, I do not engage in speculation, I am the prime minister, I have a responsibility on this matter and I must be careful what I say", said Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
SRI is currently led by the first deputy, General Răzvan Ionescu.
