The Minister of Economy, Radu Miruță, stated that the Romanian state is committed to using the European mechanism Security Action for Europe (SAFE) to support the shipyard in Mangalia and to develop the production of equipment and armament in the naval and infantry sectors. Romanian authorities are in discussions to identify the best commercial offers, considering the operational criteria received from the Ministry of Defense. Miruță emphasized the effective collaboration between state institutions to deliver the necessary products to the Romanian Army, mentioning that the goal is not only to obtain a loan with a low interest rate but also to ensure a fair price for the products obtained. Romania will benefit from 16.68 billion euros through SAFE, and the list of projects must be submitted to the European Commission by November 29. The SAFE program includes defense, budgetary, and infrastructure components, with a total budget of 150 billion euros.
