Lukoil has stated that all its gas stations in Bulgaria are operating normally and will continue to operate without interruptions, contradicting speculation about their closure. The company emphasized that information regarding the suspension of activities is false and misleading, assuring customers that they have full fuel stocks. The sanctions imposed by the United States and the United Kingdom on Russian oil companies, including Lukoil, have raised concerns about fuel supply in Bulgaria, especially ahead of winter.

Lukoil has requested an extension of the sanctions exemption for certain operations, needing time to manage its existing obligations. Analysts suggest that Bulgaria has stocks of oil and petroleum products, but will need to import these resources to avoid the impact of sanctions on Lukoil's pipeline network.
