Head of the Botoșani County Council, Valeriu Iftime, questioned at the Iași DNA in Fănel Bogoș’s case: “It’s like in Dadaism. It seems to me that you put your hand into a hat, pull out a name, and summon that person as a witness.”

The President of the Botoșani County Council, Liberal Valeriu Iftime, is being questioned at the headquarters of the Iași National Anticorruption Directorate, in the case in which Vaslui businessman Fănel Bogoș is also under investigation. Iftime arrived at the DNA headquarters in the morning, without specifying in what capacity he had been summoned or which matters were being examined by prosecutors.

Before entering the questioning, the head of the Botoșani County Council stated that he did not know why he had been summoned before the anticorruption prosecutors. “I’ll find out and tell you,” said Valeriu Iftime, suggesting that he might be questioned as a witness.

The questioning is taking place as part of the DNA investigation involving Fănel Bogoș. So far, no official information has been provided about Iftime’s connection to the case or the acts under investigation.
