A new survey conducted by BRD – Groupe Societe Generale and the Friends For Friends Foundation reveals that young people from Generation Z in Romania are facing a complex economic and digital environment, needing more financial education. 85% of respondents state that they would need additional information to feel prepared for the future. The study shows that 62% of students consider themselves well-informed financially, while 81% recognize attempts at online fraud.

Young people are oriented towards careers in IT and entrepreneurship, with 40% preferring the entrepreneurial option. Additionally, 58% of students closely follow political changes in Romania, indicating an openness to macro-social issues. Although university is seen as an important tool for a career, 57% of students believe that higher education focuses too much on theory and not enough on practical skills. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1001 young people, representative of the population aged 18-25 in Romania.
