Vlad Gheorghe, independent candidate, announced that he will abolish the sectors and Ilfov, promising a unified Bucharest.

Vlad Gheorghe submitted his candidacy for the General Mayor of the Capital on Monday. He stated that he will organize a referendum for the abolition of the sectors and Ilfov, accusing the parties of wasting public funds. Gheorghe emphasized the need for a unified Bucharest that responds to the needs of the citizens, not the interests of local barons. He also mentioned that he will fight against the real estate mafia and that he will draw inspiration from the statements of President Nicușor Dan, who promised a mayor dedicated to the citizens. So far, several candidates from various parties and independents have submitted their candidacies, and the deadline for submission is November 23. The local partial elections will take place on December 7.
