Alexia Borza, a graduate of the 'Avram Iancu' Theoretical High School in Cluj-Napoca, won in court the right to take the Baccalaureate exam in the special session, after the Ministry of Education rejected her request.
The Cluj Court of Appeal ruled in her favor, but the ministry appealed the decision to the High Court of Cassation and Justice. Alexia, who was selected for admission to Wirtschafts Universität Wien, found out that the admission exam coincides with the Baccalaureate test, which is why she requested the special session. After a failed administrative process, she turned to a law firm, which considered that the ministry's interpretation was excessively restrictive.
Despite the uncertainty, Alexia managed to take the exam in the special session, achieving an average of 9.51. Her lawyer, Tania Maria Câmpan, emphasizes that this case could lead to changes in the rules regarding the special Baccalaureate session. The Ministry of Education requested the suspension of the effects of the decision but later withdrew.
Alexia continues the admission process at the university in Vienna, with the exam scheduled for June 30.
