The Danube’s flow at its entry into Romania, at the Baziaș section, will rise to 1,550 m³/s by September 19, according to a forecast issued by the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA). However, the figure will remain well below the multi-year average for September, which is 3,800 m³/s.

During the first part of the period, the flow will remain steady at around 1,250 m³/s, before subsequently increasing. Downstream from the Iron Gates, flows will decrease slightly at the beginning of the forecast period, then rise slightly along the Gruia–Călărași sector and remain relatively steady between Cernavodă and Tulcea.

Rising flows are forecast on rivers in the eastern half of the country on Sunday, due to rainfall and its propagation. Subsequently, flows will decrease slightly until the end of the period, while those on the other rivers will initially remain relatively stable.

Hydrologists warn that throughout the period, water levels and flows may rise on some small rivers in hilly and mountainous areas as a result of showers.
