The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA) has forecasted that the flow of the Danube at the entrance into the country, at the Baziaș section, will increase towards the end of next week, reaching 1,550 m³/s. This value will be significantly below the multiannual average for August, which is 3,900 m³/s.

In the first three days of the period from August 22 to 29, the flow will remain stable at 1,300 m³/s, while downstream of the Iron Gates, the flows will be relatively constant, with a slight increase in the second part of the period. The quarterly forecast estimates a maximum flow of 2,000 m³/s and a minimum of 1,450 m³/s for the month of August. Additionally, on the internal rivers, the flows will generally be stable, but increases are expected on some rivers in the hilly and mountainous areas, especially in the first part of the period, due to the forecasted precipitation.

The hydrological regime for August will be between 30-50% of the multiannual averages, with exceptions in the upper basins of the Prahova and Ialomița rivers, where the values will be higher. Episodic phenomena of significant runoff are possible during heavy rainfall.
