The Capital City Hall announces significant measures for improving waste management, including the expansion of selective collection from four to seven fractions.

These will include paper, plastic, metal, glass, residual waste, biodegradable waste, textiles, and hazardous waste. The project also introduces the "Pay as you throw" system, which will adjust sanitation fees based on the amount of waste generated. Additionally, the establishment of Volunteer Collection Centers for the free disposal of various types of waste is proposed.

New rules for sanitation services will prohibit the circulation of machinery on public transport arteries during peak hours and will encourage nighttime waste collection. Monitoring of sanitation operators will be strict, with penalties for non-compliance with obligations.

All these measures will be implemented gradually until 2033, according to the City Hall.
