The Capital City Hall announced that on Thursday there was a meeting with operators and experts in the sanitation field to discuss cleaning projects in Bucharest.

These proposals, which include significant changes, will be submitted to a vote in the General Council. Among the main changes is the transition from collecting waste in four fractions to seven, with separate containers for each type of waste. Food waste will be collected separately to facilitate recycling, and plant waste will be composted.

The "Pay as you throw" system will be implemented, and Volunteer Collection Centers will be set up for the collection of used oil and old items. The projects also include rules for street cleaning, with restrictions for sanitation vehicles during peak hours. Operators will be monitored and penalized for non-compliance with the regulations. All proposed measures should be implemented by 2033.
