PSD Vice President, Lia Olguța Vasilescu, accused Ilie Bolojan of repeatedly changing the conditions for supporting a new government and of blocking the formation of a fully empowered executive. "He has lied every time. It is clear that he does not want to leave the Victoria Palace," she stated. At the same time, the social democrat also criticized PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan, claiming that "he does not know what is happening in Romania," commenting on his statements regarding the political situation. Vasilescu asserted that PSD is ready to enter the government, but without Ilie Bolojan as prime minister, and did not rule out the option of early elections if the current political deadlock continues.
