Nicu Ștefănuță, Vice President of the European Parliament, announced that he will challenge any attempt to restrict the rights of prosumers in Romania at the European Commission, considering that the measures announced by the Government represent an attack on the freedoms gained by law in 2025. On the same day, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan proposed strict conditions for connecting photovoltaic panels to the grid, stating that prosumers must have storage installations.

Ștefănuță emphasized that it is unacceptable for large energy monopolies to benefit from the restriction of citizens' rights to manage the energy they produce. He described the government proposals as "anti-European" and criticized the idea of returning to coal.
