Bolojan: Prosumer with storage systems can significantly support the energy system / "One of the mistakes that were made was that we did not stimulate the storage area"

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated on Friday that prosumers with energy storage capacities can play an important role in balancing the national energy system. He emphasized that the batteries installed by prosumers can help reduce pressure on the grid by storing energy produced during high production periods and using it when demand is higher.

Bolojan stated that one of the mistakes made in recent years in the energy sector was the lack of sufficient measures to stimulate the storage area. According to him, one of the previous mistakes was the lack of stimulation in the storage area, which led to a disadvantageous situation compared to other countries, such as Bulgaria, which benefits from energy import and resale.

The Prime Minister mentioned that by imposing guarantees for technical approvals, a decrease in speculative requests has been observed, and projects with solid funding continue to progress. He estimates that if this direction is maintained, next year Romania will have much more developed storage capacities, contributing to the stabilization of energy production.
