Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned that Russia could target border crossings in Poland and other states on NATO’s eastern flank. The statement was made in Bratislava after drones struck a border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova in the Odesa region on Wednesday, killing two people.

Tusk said that the previous night, cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian services had helped avert a direct threat to one of the border crossings. The Polish prime minister claimed that Russia had already launched provocative attacks on such facilities, including in Moldova.

The head of the government in Warsaw said he expected similar actions in other countries, including Poland. He stated that he had received a CIA report on possible developments in the coming months and called on Poland and Europe to prepare scenarios for securing the eastern flank of the European Union amid the war in Ukraine.
