During the plenary meeting of the NATO Industrial Advisory Group, the President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, emphasized that Romania is strong militarily and that it is essential to strengthen and develop existing capabilities. Abrudean highlighted Romania's commitment to the NATO mission, mentioning that investments in defense contribute to economic growth and technological progress. He mentioned collaborations with international companies, such as Hanwha Aerospace from South Korea, which will open a shell factory in Dâmbovița, generating 2,000 jobs, and Rheinmetall from Germany, which is building a powder factory with an investment of over 500 million euros.
Abrudean emphasized the need to strengthen national capabilities in the context of the reduction of the American military presence in Romania and the possible increase of the presence of other NATO states to compensate for the security deficit.
