Former deputy secretary general of the Government, Cristina Trăilă, said on Wednesday, after being questioned at the Iași National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) in the case in which she is being investigated for complicity in influence peddling, that she did not ask the president of the Botoșani County Council, Valeriu Iftime, to withdraw his support for the president of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), Alexandru Bociu. Trăilă claimed that the discussion with the liberal leader was a “very simple, collegial” one, about his relationship with Bociu and about the PNL organization that allegedly supported the latter for the position of ANSVSA president.
