Cristina Trăilă, questioned by the DNA in Iași / She is under criminal investigation in a case concerning influence over the leadership of ANSVSA

Cristina Trăilă, a former deputy secretary-general of the Government, arrived at the Iași DNA headquarters on Wednesday morning to be questioned after personally requesting to give a statement in the case in which she is under criminal investigation. She said that prosecutors had not summoned her and that she came on her own initiative.

At the end of August, the DNA began criminal proceedings against Trăilă for aiding and abetting the use of influence or authority to obtain undue benefits. According to investigators, between November 3 and 4, 2025, she allegedly supported efforts by Mihai Barbu, the former leader of the National Liberal Party (PNL) in Vaslui, to replace the director of the Vaslui Directorate for Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety (DSVSA) with a person supported by businessman Fănel Bogos.

Prosecutors claim that the objective was to obtain benefits for the businessman and his company, including approval of a compensation claim worth approximately three million euros and a reduction in sanitary-veterinary inspections. Trăilă subsequently resigned from her government position.

Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, mentioned in the context of the investigation, said that he did not regret meeting Fănel Bogos and that he had not been summoned by the DNA in this case.
